Toy Donations needed! The Morris County Park Police are continuing a special holiday tradition by seeking donations and distributing toys to Morris County children in need in honor of Sergeant Tim Albine. Over the past 14 years, the Sergeant Tim Albine Memorial Toy Drive has donated thousands of toys to ill and needy children in local hospitals and shelters, all thanks to the community!

Help spread the holiday cheer this year. Please drop off a new, unwrapped top at one of the following drop off locations by Friday, December 14:

Snowshoe Sundays at Pyramid Mountain NHA

Ages 10 & Up.

Get outside and active this winter, and experience the unique and exhilarating sport of snowshoeing! Enjoy a guided trek exploring the beautiful winter scenery and looking for signs of wildlife - all while getting a great workout. No experience is necessary. Please call in advance regarding conditions.

If you already know how to snowshoe or want to venture out on your own, various sizes, including children’s, are available for one-day rental and use at Pyramid Mountain NHA. You must be 18 years or older to rent shoes, and a photo ID or rental deposit of $10/pair per day by cash is required. Shoes can be rented between 9 a.m. and 11 a.m., and must be returned by 4 pm the same day.

The trees are tapped, and the firewood is chopped - it’s maple sugaring season at the Great Swamp OEC! Experience the fascinating process of maple sugaring from tree to pancake topping. Watch as staff identifies and taps maple trees and collects sap, and make syrup over a wood-fired evaporator. Taste-test different, delicious syrups, including syrup made at the Great Swamp OEC. Rain or shine.
