Meet Major & King, the new draft horse team at A Winter's Day on the Farm

There’s excitement on the farm...meet the newest animal additions, Major & King! This will be the only opportunity to greet the new draft horse team before season opening in April! After your animal introduction, hop on a tractor-pulled wagon ride, and take part in hands-on activities like maple tapping, and wood sawing. Watch as the farmers harvest ice on the pond, weather permitting, and meet all the other resident animals on the farm.

Cost: $8/adult, $7/senior (65+), $6/child (4 - 16), and $4/child (2 & 3), FREE for children under age 2. Friends member are half price with a current membership card.

Maple Sugaring Demonstrations

Maple Sugaring logo

Learn how to identify and tap maple trees, collect sap, and make syrup over a wood-fired evaporator. Taste-test different delicious syrups, including syrup made right at the Great Swamp OEC. Treats are available for purchase.

This year’s keynote speaker is Karen Washington, ‘Urban Farming’s Grand Dame,’ according to the New York Times.

Teachers: Take advantage of our many excellent field trips that are close at hand and offer a wealth of educational experiences at affordable prices.
