The Morris County Park Commission’s ever-popular summer camps fill-up quickly, so now is the perfect time to register! At camp, kids will have memorable, fun-filled days, at some of Morris County’s most beautiful and unique facilities. Campers can explore new areas of interest and improve existing skills. These camps offer a range of programs for kids with a variety of interests: explore the wilderness of Morris County; travel back in time at historic site; enjoy lake activities including swimming, boating and the Wibit; develop ice hockey and figure skating skills; learn to garden vegetables; and investigate a law enforcement career!

The Winter Farmers’ Market offers an assortment of meats, cheeses, winter produce, artisan breads, prepared foods, honey, preserves, and baked goods. Maple Sugaring

Maple syrup is winter’s sugary treasure! The sap is flowing and the sugaring season is underway at the Great Swamp OEC. Come experience all the sweet sights and smells at a maple sugaring demonstration. Discover the process from start to finish by identifying and tapping maple trees, collecting sap, and seeing syrup made over a wood-fired evaporator. Think you can identify the differences between maple syrups? Taste test three distinct maple syrups and let us know which one you enjoy the most!

Enjoy this wonderful opportunity to hear famed horticulturist, Fergus Garrett speak. Mr. Garrett is the head gardener at Great Dixter House and Gardens in Northiam, England. 12th Annual Matilda's Tea Party

12th Annual Matilda's Tea Party

Celebrate the life and times of Matilda Frelinghuysen by attending a tea party in her honor. Enjoy tea, great food, and some age appropriate entertainment. When Matilda was a child in the 1890’s, Hershey’s Kisses were invented and became very popular. Now, young people, along with their favorite adults, can learn the history of chocolate, partake in a chocolate feast, and make their own chocolate treat to take home. For ages 6 & up. Snow date is Saturday, February 28.

Fifth Annual Community Garden Conference

Community Garden Conference

The keynote speaker is the renowned botanical explorer Joseph Simcox. The impressive list of session speakers, all experts in their field, cover topics both relevant and pertinent to community gardeners, garden managers, and those trying to establish a new community garden. It’s a full day of education, networking, and camaraderie. Lunch is provided. Snow date is Sunday, March 8.

Discover where to snowshoe, cross-country ski, ice skate, and sled in Morris County Parks.

Central Park of Morris County Rink #1 is now OPEN for ice skating. Lights will turn on at sunset and remain on until 9 p.m. Sunday - Thursday and 10 p.m. Friday and Saturday. Please continue to check back for ice status.

Looking for something fresh and exciting to do this Friday Night? Then come to Mennen Sports Arena and skate the night away! DJ Earl will be playing the newest hits and some of your favorite throw-backs under the psychedelic lights. Want to hear something special? Requests are always welcome. Gather your friends and meet on the ice every Friday night for skating, arcade games, and yummy treats from the snack bar.
